This trail takes you past St. Michans Church (where the Stokers had a family crypt) famed for it's collection of mummified corpses and shows the influence of Lady Speranza's (Oscar Wilde's Mother) chilling evening tales which would later echo in Stoker's gothic masterpiece. The tour also takes you into the 14th century Malahide Castle, set in its own magnificent gardens and containing famous portrait paintings from the National Art Gallery. Glendalough and ICON, The Home of Baileys

This spellbinding tour combines the old with the new in a journey that allows a rare opportunity to experience not only the period of a past that shaped the present, Glendalough, but also a very contemporary setting at ICON which draws very much on our beautiful and intriguing past. Reaching the 6th century Christian settlement of Glendalough through the stunning route of the Blessington Lakes, the early afternoon is spent at a site deriving its name from its idyllic setting in the Valley of Two Lakes. This monastic site, which earned its early fame as a place of great learning under the guidance of St. Kevin, today boasts a 10th century conical roofed round tower (built as a refuge from Viking and Clan raids) and St. Kevin's Kitchen set against a breathtaking scenic backdrop. Time is allowed for lunch (not included in the price) at Glendalough. On route back to Dublin the final visit is to ICON, The Home of Baileys, and Eriu, an audio visual show which will take you on a journey to the heart and mind of Irish myth and legend in a setting of Newgrange. After the twelve minute show you will be treated to a complimentary glass of the delicious Bailey's Irish cream liquer and allowed shopping time at The Baileys and Kilkenny Shops.
